It’s Pride 2023! The UK is gearing up for another year of Pride celebrations, with events taking place across the country. From the iconic Pride in London march to smaller, more community-focused events, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Pride is a time to celebrate LGBTQIA+ culture and history and to come together as a community. It is also a time to raise awareness of the challenges that LGBTQIA+ people still face and to continue to fight for equality. We are so incredibly excited for pride this year, and it feels like we need it this year more than ever. But with over 130 events this year, it’s a bit of a struggle to know which one to go to. We’ve put together a short list of Pride events we wanted to spotlight, as well as the complete list of events. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the full list.
Brighton Pride
Brighton Pride is one of the largest Pride events in the UK, and it takes place from August 2 to 7, 2023. The main event is a two-day festival in Preston Park, with music, dancing, and entertainment from a variety of performers, including international stars like Black Eyed Peas and Steps. There is also a parade and a village party, making it a full weekend of celebration for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Manchester Pride
Manchester Pride is a major LGBTQIA+ event that takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It has been running since 1985, and it is one of the longest-running Pride events in the UK.
The event features a variety of activities, including a parade, a festival, and a candlelit vigil. The parade is a colourful and festive procession that winds its way through the streets of Manchester. The festival is a two-day event that takes place in the Gay Village, and it features live music, dancing, and food and drink. Homotopia
Liverpool is a city with a long and proud history of LGBTQIA+ activism and creativity. In November, the city comes alive with the Homotopia Festival, a celebration of LGBTQIA+ arts and culture.
Homotopia is the longest-running LGBTQIA+ arts festival in the UK, and it features a wide range of events, including dance, theater, visual arts, workshops, discussions, and family-friendly events. The festival is a showcase for the work of LGBTQIA+ artists from across the UK, and it is a chance for the community to come together and celebrate their culture.
In 2023, Homotopia will take place from November 10-20. The festival will feature a variety of events, including:
- A parade through the city center
- A two-day festival in Camp and Furnace
- A number of theater productions
- A variety of visual art exhibitions
- A number of workshops and discussions
- A number of family-friendly events

Birmingham Pride
The main stage at Birmingham Pride is set to be bigger and better than ever in 2023, with the addition of a runway. This will create a space for drag queens and kings to strut their stuff, and for cabaret performers to put on a show.

Black Pride has been running for 18 years, and it is the largest celebration of its kind in the UK. In 2022, the event saw over 25,000 people take part.
Pride Cymru
Pride Cymru is returning to Cardiff on June 17-18, 2023. The event is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ culture and history in Wales.
Pride Cymru is a volunteer-led charity, and it is committed to making the event as inclusive as possible. The event is family-friendly, and it features a variety of activities, including:
- A parade through the streets of Cardiff
- A festival in Cardiff Castle
- Three stages of music
- Stalls selling food and drink
- Dance and performance
This year’s headliners include Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Youngr, Claire Richards, and the Dolly Parton Experience.
Bi Pride
Bi Pride UK is a celebration of bisexuality and a protest against bi-erasure. The event will take place on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at The People’s Palace, Mile End, London.
The event will be a mix of educational and celebratory activities, including:
- Q&As with inspirational speakers
- Live music acts
- Food and drink
- Workshops and activities
Bi Pride UK is a chance for the bisexual community to come together and celebrate their identities. It is also a chance to raise awareness of bisexuality and to educate others about the bisexual community.
The event will be both a live in-person event and streamed online.
Trans+ Pride
Trans+ Pride UK is a celebration of trans and non-binary people. The event will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2023, in Trafalgar Square, London.
This year, the event is particularly important as it comes at a time when trans and non-binary people are facing increasing challenges. In recent years, there has been a rise in anti-trans rhetoric and violence, and trans rights are under attack in many countries around the world.
Trans+ Pride UK is a chance for the trans and non-binary community to come together and show their strength and resilience. It is also a chance to raise awareness of the challenges that trans and non-binary people face, and to demand better treatment and respect.
